Help Us Recover Our Family Car in Crisis
Donation protected
My name is Ravyn, and I am the full-time caretaker for my great-grandfather, Louis Cavasos, a WWII veteran who will be turning 102 on August 25th. Recently, my boyfriend and I faced an unexpected crisis while moving to a new home in Galveston, TX. Our previous landlord gave us a week to move our belongings and vehicles, but had my boyfriend’s car towed after only two days. The car was impounded, and the fees are increasing daily, putting us in a difficult financial position after already spending everything we had on moving costs and replacing furniture due to pest issues in my great-grandfather’s old apartment.
This car is essential for our family. My boyfriend is still recovering from double bypass open heart surgery caused by complications from COVID-19, and he relies on the car to get to work and attend his medical appointments. The car is also our backup transportation for my great-grandfather, who needs regular trips for prescriptions, groceries, and other errands. Without it, we risk missing important appointments and being unable to meet basic needs. Louis, who is a huge Houston Astros fan, has been through so much, and we want to make sure he can continue to live comfortably and independently as he celebrates his 102nd birthday.
We are reaching out for help to cover the impound fees and get the car back before the costs become unmanageable. Any support will go directly toward recovering the car and ensuring our family can continue to care for Louis and support my boyfriend’s recovery. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any help you can provide.
