My name is Pamela Coleman and I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this.
In January 2025, I suffered a fall in a gas station that led to a concussion and ongoing medical issues. Since then, I have been under the care of multiple doctors, including concussion specialists, vestibular therapy, mental health providers, speech therapy, and primary care. The medical expenses, copays, and medications have been overwhelming.
During this time, I was placed on short-term and then long-term disability, receiving only a portion of my income. When I attempted to return to work part-time, my paychecks were drastically reduced due to deductions, sometimes leaving me with almost nothing to live on.
My husband Randy who was until 7 yrs ago the bread winner and our financial roles reversed with him placed on permanently disability after 3 surgeries. Despite doing everything we could to stay afloat, we fell behind on our mortgage. Our home of over 20 years was foreclosed on and auctioned on December 3, 2025. Losing our home and everything we built has been devastating.
On top of everything, we are now facing the urgent need to secure stable housing, with most places requiring first and last month’s rent and deposits that we simply cannot afford.
Most recently, I came home from work on Tuesday, March 25th feeling unwell, and was diagnosed with the flu after going to urgent care. I thought I would be back at work by now but a second visit to urgent care April 1 was warranted due to additional symptoms to include a painful ear infection.. As I sit here trying to figure out which bill won’t get paid, it has become clear that we can no longer do this alone.
Through 35+ years of ups and downs, my husband and I have always found a way to get through—but right now, we need help to make it through this chapter.
We are asking for support to help cover medical expenses, basic living costs, and to secure a safe place to live.
