I’m a mom of three children—a 13-year-old, a 7-year-old, and a 1-year-old. Last night, the fire sprinklers in our apartment went off for no reason at all (there was no fire), and it flooded our whole apartment. We lost almost everything. My 1-year-old son lost all of his toys, we lost electronics, our couch, and all of my children’s shoes and jackets for the winter and school. We lost diapers and so many other things as well. We simply don’t have the money to replace these things.

On top of that, our landlord is making us take care of moving all the damaged furniture out of our apartment, which means we need to rent a U-Haul. My fiancé’s family lives almost five hours away and mine lives an hour away, so we have no one here to help us with anything. The money we raise will go toward replacing the items and furniture we lost, renting a U-Haul, and helping with essentials like diapers, food, new shoes and jackets, and a hotel for a couple of nights while we figure things out.

Me and my family have gone through loss after loss over the last few years. This is almost unbearable for us all, and we are so overwhelmed. Anything helps more than you know, and thank you to anyone who helps.
