Towards the end of last year, our beloved family friend,who was like an uncle to us, passed away. In the years leading up to his passing, my family and I supported him through his medical challenges and daily needs. We lived together in his home and cared for him.

Before he died, he expressed his wish for us to stay in the home and continue taking care of it. He wanted it to remain in trusted hands, and we began the probate process to honor that wish.

Unfortunately, an old acquaintance of his convinced him,while he was ill and vulnerable, to sign documents that added her to the home's title. After his passing, she used this to have us evicted from the house he intended for us to keep. During the turmoil of the eviction, we were also reported to child protective services, adding even more stress to an already devastating situation.

We’ve been fighting a difficult legal battle, doing everything we can with the help of family, but legal fees are overwhelming, and we’re at risk of losing not just a home, but a promise we made to someone we loved.
