Over two nights this week, The Eco Therapy Garden CIC — a volunteer-run community wellbeing space in Knowsley — suffered devastating vandalism. Our greenhouse was smashed, sheds broken into, planters and cold frames destroyed, and children’s play and sensory equipment damaged beyond repair.
The total estimated loss is over £10,000, with the biggest costs being:
Greenhouse and staging – £2,000
Shed and tools – £1,300
Raised planters and cold frames – £1,300
Signage and garden infrastructure – £1,000
Plants, pots, hose pipes and polytunnel wrap – £2000
Children’s play equipment – £500
Miscellaneous items and repairs – £1000+
Our volunteers have poured countless hours of care, creativity and love into building this space — a haven for those experiencing loneliness, anxiety, or poor mental health. Seeing that work destroyed has been devastating for everyone involved.
We’re determined to rebuild, restore and reopen — but we need your help.
Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards repairing the damage and replacing what’s been lost, so we can continue offering therapeutic activities, gardening, and creative wellbeing sessions to our community.
Please help us rebuild hope.
Donate, share, or support us in any way you can.
