Hello people!

We’re Nick and Michael — friends, riders, travelers and creators!

After years spent chasing waves, trails, and mountains we had the opportunity of creating something meaningful.

That’s how Shareland was born: a space in Ericeira, Portugal with the aim to create connections through sports, nature and community where we offer unique kinds of accomodations

We're preparing to welcome people from all over the world with surf camps, mountain biking, yoga and climbing

but just as we were getting everything ready… nature reminded us who’s in charge.

️ What happened:

In late March 2025, Storm Martinho hit Portugal with winds over 150 km/h and heavy rainfall that damaged large parts of the country.

The damage was:

• Destroied van by fallen pine tree

• Dozens of trees fell

• A newly built bathroom was crushed by a eucalyptus tree

• Our yurta (a key part of our space) was completely taken by the wind

• Broken outdoor bus-tent

The photos we’re sharing show exactly what happened.

We’re not stopping and we believe in Shareland more than ever, but we need a little help to get back on track.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to rebuild Shareland stronger, safer and ready to create a space where people can enjoy, play and connect in different and unique ways.

For full clarity and transparency, here is a detailed breakdown of the damages caused by the storm and the estimated costs to rebuild Shareland.

1.⁠ ⁠Damaged Van (Iveco) from fallen pine tree

• Estimated damage: 5.000€

2.⁠ ⁠Yurta (completely destroyed)

• Cost of replacement: 12.000€

3.⁠ ⁠Damaged bathroom from fallen eucalyptus tree

Includes: new boiler, sanitary ware, flooring, structure, top layer, covering, microcement, and shower base.

• Materials: 2.500€

• Labor: 120 hours × 20€/h = 2.400€

• Total: 4.900€ (conservative estimate)

4. Tree Cutting & Removal:

• Estimated real cost for full tree removal (professional rate + machinery rentals) : 6.000–7.000€

5. Outdoor bus tent

• Materials + work: 3.000€ (Google Drive for details)

Total estimated cost: ~33.250–33.750€
