My name is fathima and I am reaching out with a heavy heart. I grew up with many of the families affected by the floods in Wellampitiya, Sri Lanka, and they are people I deeply care about. Seeing them lose their homes, belongings, and basic necessities has broken my heart. I am creating this GoFundMe to support them because they truly have no way to recover without help.

Recently, the community of Wellampitiya, Sri Lanka experienced one of the most devastating flood. Many families and close friends I personally know have lost everything. Their homes were completely submerged, and when the water finally went down, nothing was left usable.

These families now have no furniture, no clothes, no beds, no kitchen items, no school supplies, and no basic essentials to continue daily life. Everything they worked so hard for has been destroyed within hours.

Most of them are now struggling even for the simplest things—

• a dry place to sleep

• proper meals

• clean clothes

• basic household items

• supplies for their children

It is heartbreaking to see them trying to rebuild from nothing.

I am creating this GoFundMe to support these most affected families so they can slowly rebuild their homes and lives. Every contribution—big or small—will help them buy essential items such as food, mattresses, pillows, clothing, school supplies, and basic household needs, stove, cleaning supplies, bed sheets, cooking pots, pans, plates, and utensils

These families are strong, but right now they truly need help. Your kindness can bring them hope during this difficult time.
