On Wednesday morning 9/22/21, LA City workers came and destroyed our built shelter, work tools, survival gear, personal keepsakes, and a trove of important documents during a “sweep” of our living space some of those same city officials had promised us days and hours before would not be happening.

(We’ve retold the full story of this despicable act in this public letter to the City.)

All told, the City destroyed around $1000 of our belongings on the spot that day, breaking laws that say they must store such belongings for 90 days and provide us opportunity to reclaim them. Of course that never happened.

Imagine if the City drove a bulldozer through your home and trashed everything you owned and walked away. This is exactly what happens when you are surviving on the streets. It's f**king wrong.

We are asking for folks to help us rebuild and weather the winter so we can find something permanent indoors ASAP. In the meantime we need to stay physically safe, mentally sharp, and as emotionally relaxed as possible to live through this tough time on the streets. We know we’ll make it through but we are struggling and this loss has been a huge setback on multiple levels.
