My family—my mom, dad, little brother, and our dog—recently lost our home when a massive oak tree crashed through it. We’re currently living in a hotel, unsure of when we’ll be able to return to a stable home. The insurance company isn’t providing enough support, and we’re left to replace everything we lost on our own. My little brother just started school, but all his supplies, clothes, and shoes were destroyed. Both of my parents are unable to work right now because of the situation, and we’re struggling to cover even the basics.

Our most urgent needs are replacing essentials like clothes, food, shoes, toiletries, and school supplies, as well as finding a new place to live. The uncertainty of how long we’ll be in this hotel is weighing on us, especially since insurance isn’t helping and the house owner hasn’t stepped in. What makes this even more emotional for us is that the tree that destroyed our home was dedicated to my late grandmother. We truly believe she was watching over my little brother—if the tree had fallen at a different angle, he might not be here today. We’re grateful for our safety, but we need help to rebuild our lives and get back on our feet.
