On February 22, 2026, our lives changed in a matter of minutes.
We were inside our apartment in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico when the OXXO store directly beneath us was violently attacked and set ablaze during the recent unrest. The explosion and fire spread quickly. Smoke filled the building. We had to run for our lives.
We escaped with only the clothes we were wearing and our beloved cat, Blu.
From across the street, we watched our apartment and everything inside it burn to the ground. Years of work, equipment, clothing, documents, furniture — gone in a single night.
We are incredibly grateful to be alive. The National Guard eventually arrived, and we sheltered nearby for hours, shaken and unsure of what would come next.
Now we are starting over from nothing.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• Temporary housing
• Clothing and basic essentials
• Replacing lost documents
• Travel expenses to relocate safely
• Pet supplies and veterinary needs for Blu
• Replacing work equipment so we can continue earning income
As a small online creator and entrepreneur, my work supports our household. Losing our home also meant losing the tools and supplies I rely on daily. Rebuilding will take time, but we are determined.
If you feel led to help, any amount makes a difference. Even sharing this page means more than you know.
We are holding onto faith, gratitude, and hope as we begin again.
Thank you for standing with us during this unimaginable season.
With love and deep appreciation,
Rosemarie, Jimmy & Blu Hilton
