Today, June 1st, 2026, a fire started in the attic of our home, quickly spreading and causing devastating damage. We lost so many essentials—clothing, TVs, beds, and other personal items that made our house feel like home. The fire left us without electricity, and the impact on our daily lives has been overwhelming. My daughter lost all her clothing, and I lost much of mine as well. We are now facing the challenge of rebuilding our living situation from the ground up.

Our landlord said it's a possibility they would sell, but not likely. The repairs to our home may take 4 months or more, so we will be without housing for that long. After living here for 12 years, being displaced during my daughter's high school graduation on Friday and my son's kindergarten graduation on Thursday makes this week especially hard. All our items are either smoked out, soaked from the water, or ruined. Emotionally, we are grateful to be unharmed, but we are drained and worried about what tomorrow will bring for us.

Without renters insurance, we have no safety net to help us recover. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward finding safe temporary housing for at least 4 months, replacing lost essentials, and helping us recover. Every dollar will help us recoup what was lost, from furniture to basic necessities, as we work to rebuild our lives after this tragedy.
