On Saturday, March 28, my family and I experienced something I never imagined would happen to us—our house caught on fire. No one was home and our 4 dogs all made it out safely, thanks to the League City fire fighters, who we are so very grateful for. Thankfully, the fire was caught quickly enough that it didn’t destroy our entire home, but it did devastate our back patio and the wall connected to my son’s bedroom

We now have to replace that entire wall and ceiling. Along with hiring an electrician to address and fix the faulty wiring and pull a permit, in order to do so. To make things even harder, we don’t have homeowners insurance and our funds are extremely limited. I live with my mother, who is on disability, and I’m a single mother to three children of which I receive no child support for.. or any support whatsoever really. This situation has left us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn.

The funds raised will go directly toward repairing the damage caused by the fire—rebuilding the wall and ceiling, and making our home safe again for my children and my mother. Because we had to cut the power off due to the electrical issues that likely caused the fire, we may also need to stay in a hotel for a few days until it’s safe to return. Every dollar will help us get back on our feet and bring some stability back to our lives during this difficult time.

Everyone needs a little help sometimes. I’ve always tried to help anyone I can, even when it’s hard for me, even when I know that person wouldn't do the same for me. That's not why I do it. " Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" .... the Golden Rule. But now, we’re the ones who need support.
