On March 8th, 2026, our lives changed forever when our beloved 1950's dream home was destroyed by fire. Thanks to the quick response of the Jax Fire Department, we made it out safely, but we lost nearly everything we had built over 38 years. Our home sat on two peaceful acres where we raised quality miniature horses—a family passion that brought us together and filled our days with joy. Unfortunately, we had no insurance coverage at the time, as our policy was canceled by State Farm after a previous claim. Now, as retirees in our seventies, starting over feels impossible.
We are grateful to have temporary housing, food, and clothing thanks to the kindness of friends, family, and local organizations. However, the emotional and financial toll of losing our home is overwhelming. I am a retired Duval County School teacher of 32 years, and my husband is a retired graphic artist. We have always worked hard and given back to our community, but now we find ourselves in need of help. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward rebuilding our home so we can reclaim our property and continue caring for our miniature horses, even as we downsize.
We know times are tough for many, and asking for help is not easy. Any donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to us as we try to move forward and rebuild our lives. Bless your heart if you are able to help us during this difficult time. Your kindness and support will help us find hope and healing after such a devastating loss.
