Support The Tate Family in Overcoming Flood Disaster

My name is Staysha, and my family’s life was recently turned upside down when our home in Louisiana was flooded. The water damage destroyed nearly everything we owned, and we’ve been forced to start over. At the time of the flood, my husband was in Missouri at an Army school working toward his promotion, and I was in California visiting family with our two-year-old daughter. Neither of us were home when the disaster struck, so our house sat for weeks before we could return, making the damage even worse.

We’re incredibly grateful for the friends who stepped in to help in any way they were able to. However, between the regular storms, Louisiana’s humid weather, and a power surge ruining all electrical, meaning no A/C or airflow, our house quickly turned into a Petri dish of mold on everything. Right now, my daughter and I are staying with family in California because the mold made it unsafe for us to go back to the home. My husband is back in Louisiana, working tirelessly to clear out what’s left of our belongings and salvage anything he can, while he and our dog are staying with a close friend.

We’re raising funds to help us recover from this disaster and cover the costs of maintaining our house and meeting daily living expenses while we’re separated. On top of everything, we’re facing significant out-of-pocket costs due to a high insurance deductible, and our insurance company has been extremely slow to respond and hasn’t provided the help we need during this disaster. This has been an incredibly difficult time for us, and we’re doing everything we can to stay positive and keep moving forward. Any and all help will make a real difference as we work to rebuild our lives and bring our family back together under one roof.
