We Lost Everything — Please Help Our Family Rebuild

I never imagined we would be in a position where we would have to ask for help like this, but today we have no other choice.

In July of last year, my husband — the father of our two beautiful daughters — was in a terrible accident that left him unable to walk. Overnight, our lives changed. He lost his job, and with it, our main source of income. I took the first job I could find, working for $14 an hour, and even though we were barely making it, we were doing everything we could to hold our family together.

Then on February 22nd, our worst nightmare came true.

While I was at work and my husband was on his way to pick up one of our daughters, our youngest daughter and her grandmother were at home when an accidental fire broke out. Within minutes, flames tore through our house. Almost everything we owned was destroyed. What the fire didn’t burn was melted by the extreme heat or ruined by thick smoke. We were told our home is a total loss.

In one moment, we lost our home, our belongings, our sense of stability — everything.

We are beyond grateful that our daughter and her grandmother made it out safely. That is the only thing that truly matters. But now we are left trying to figure out how to rebuild from nothing while already struggling from my husband’s accident.

We are asking — from the bottom of our hearts — for any help you can give. Whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story, it means more than we can ever express. We would not be asking if we had any other way.

Our girls have already been through so much this past year. We just want to give them some sense of normalcy and safety again.
