Yesterday afternoon, our lives changed in an instant. Our apartment building burned down, and my boyfriend, our four kids, and I lost everything—including our beloved family pet. Thankfully, none of us were home at the time, but we received the call and rushed to the scene, only to watch our entire building come down. Everything we loved and worked so hard for was gone in a matter of moments.

Now, we are facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over from scratch. We are in urgent need of help to secure temporary or potentially permanent housing, and to replace the essentials for ourselves and our children. The loss has been devastating, but we are grateful to be safe and together, even as we grieve what we’ve lost.
