Hi everyone, I’m Ava. Since July, my partner Bradley and I, along with our seven-month-old baby boy Cree, have been working to build a life for ourselves on Country. We moved back to Bradley and Cree’s ancestral Bardi Jawi Country on the Dampier Peninsula to help restore the Angus family’s community, Mudnunn, and raise our son. Some of you may know us from our TikTok @bythetide3 where we have been documenting our journey of building a sustainable life out here.

While we entered 2026 with high hopes, Cyclone Haley has caused a major setback to our home and the gardens we worked so hard to establish. We are determined to stay and continue our work on Country, but we need a helping hand to get back on our feet.
