Help Missy & Jeff Become Parents

Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Missy and Jeff’s journey to create a family.

Missy and Jeff became roommates in 2003 and after more than a year of living together, they fell in love and haven’t looked back since. Fast-forward to 2008, and they were married in Hanalei, hoping to have a family once they were both in a solid place financially.

What they hoped would be a seamless path toward parenthood has taken them on a journey that has lasted nearly a decade, including a host of fertility treatments including IVF, resulting in increased stress and financial difficulties. Then, as many of you may recall, COVID took over the world, forcing Missy to close her successful business while Jeff’s creative agency downsized dramatically to meet the market. Through it all, they kept hope, and in the wake of a global pandemic and an uncertain future, they rented out their home in Aina Haina to move in with family on Kaua‘i and save for the future.

Then, in May of 2021, Missy was diagnosed with breast cancer and over the span of a year endured mulitple surgeries, and currently takes medication that would make it impossible to carry a child. But, thanks to the wonderful medical care of expert physicians and an early diagnosis, Missy is now cancer-free and back to living a relatively normal life.

Now, who in their right mind, after being tossed around by a pandemic, failed IVF, and surviving a bout with breast cancer, would still want to give this another try? Missy and Jeff, that’s who. Why? Because the two of them just don’t quit. How? Through an expensive surrogacy program that costs over $115k.

To bring this dream to life, they’re going to need some help. Now, they’re not the type to ask for handouts, and this whole process is admittedly awkward, but if you can spare it, it’s going towards a worthy cause—human life, raised by parents who care enough to work this hard to bring it into the world, one way or another.

The money raised will be used to cover the costs of having a surrogate/gestational carrier carry the future Baby Mull. The costs include but are not limited to, IVF, genetic testing for embryos, gestational carrier compensation, legal fees and agency fees.

If you’re asking yourself, "What do you get in return for giving?" (Outside of the soulful exuberance for the sake of donating to a noble cause, of course.) As it turns out, quite a bit. And we're not kidding with this stuff.
