Welcome to the Arundel and Littlehampton District Scout Go Fund Me page. Thank you so much for clicking the link and supporting our project.

Arundel and Littlehampton manage Furzefield campsite located at Dappers Lane, Angmering, BN16 4EN, where hundreds of young people from local scout groups enjoy our numerous campsite areas, nature walks and a safe space to learn new 'skills for life'. These skills include cooking, tent pitching, fire lighting, map reading, team building and so many important skills that the next generation are keen to learn. We also open our gates to local forest schools, Guides and other groups that are completing Duke of Edinburgh awards and many more. During the recent pandemic, Furzefield campsite was critical, as an open space, to maintaining scouting, when all our other meeting places were either closed or access to them was restricted.

Our volunteers work tirelessly around the clock, and often around full time jobs, to maintain a safe and secure area that can be enjoyed by everyone. The most recent update to the site is a brand new cesspit for the toilet blocks. We were able to use what was left of our existing funds to allow a new tank to be installed that is twice the capacity of the original, making the maintenance of this tank more economical than the one before. Our leaders and volunteers have dug out new drainage trenches around the campsite while hand planting Willow tree cuttings and other native species along the banks to reduce the risk of flooding in bad weather. The campsite has also recently had two recycled all weather shelters installed for use by anyone on site when the unpredictable weather hits. Our aim is to be able to refurbish and update all areas on site and bring them up to a standard that all visitors will be satisfied with and to be able to facilitate the managing of the campsite for many more years to come.

Although many hours have been put into updating the site, we are in great need of new toilet blocks for visitors to use when on site and we are fundraising in the hope that we can replace the existing dire toilet blocks. The current blocks are beyond repair and have had to be fixed on numerous occasions, due to blockages, leaks, broken roofs and ageing walls. The condition of the toilets are not great by today's standards and we want to be able to change this rapidly. Arundel and Littlehampton District Scouts propose to install 2 new toilet blocks. One unisex block with individual cubicles and a brand new accessible/disabled single toilet unit. New toilet facilities will improve the ease of use and maintenance but also make the entrance to the campsite a lot more appealing.

We are hoping to raise £25,000 to go towards the cost of the new toilet blocks and installation.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and if you are unable to donate then please share our crowdfunding link with family, friends and business associates. The more shares we get the faster we will reach our target. Please follow our progress on our Facebook page.
