Help Us Raise £1200 for St. Augustine’s Hospital Muheza

Hello everyone,

We are four medical students from Newcastle University who have had the incredible opportunity to spend our elective period at St. Augustine’s Hospital, Muheza. St. Augustine’s is a missionary hospital that provides essential medical care to underserved communities. For the past two weeks, we have had a wonderful time learning from the experienced professionals here, and witnessing the immense impact of compassionate healthcare in resource-limited settings.

While planning for this experience, we learned that the hospital is in dire need of new patient monitors- critical equipment that helps track vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels. These monitors are essential for providing safe and effective care, particularly in emergency and intensive care settings and post-operative care.

Each of these monitors costs £400, and our plan is to raise £1200 to cover the cost of three monitors.

This GoFundMe is linked directly to the hospital account, so all funds raised will go directly to the hospital to help improve patient care.

Why This Matters

Many of the patients treated at this hospital come from marginalised communities, often unable to afford care and insurance. The hospital operates with limited resources and relies heavily on donations to sustain its services. By providing much-needed equipment, we can help the hospital save lives and deliver better care to those who need it most.

It gives holistic support to adults and children with life limiting diseases like HIV and cancer and to their families.
