Crisis Food began life as a direct response to the pandemic back in March 2020, a small dedicated team of volunteers got together & set about meeting the immediate needs of our most vulnerable Gosport residents that were suddenly isolated & with no means of getting even basic help.

They started supplying small ambient “get you by” emergency daily free delivered food parcels, this quickly escalated & they began to uncover an underlying long term pressing need for some extra community support for many local families that was quite apart from the problems being caused by the pandemic.

Today 2 years on, between 60 & 100 food boxes filled with enough fresh vegetables, frozen meat & fish etc. to last 5 days are sourced, collected, packed & delivered by the same bunch of totally dedicated volunteers from team leader Charlotte's house & front yard.

This goes on week in week out, rain, shine or bitter cold, all from a now very over run family house, complete with it’s 11 freezers & 4 fridges, out across to the yard full of storage baskets in various stages of being packed & loaded on to the various vans & cars ready for delivery, all totally non profit & from donations only.

Now they are now asking you for your help, to raise £6,000 to construct a sizeable all weather wooden out house in the front yard, a fairly big ask, but it will enable them to accept far more food, store far more food & support far more of the vulnerable and needy right across our own Gosport community whilst keeping overheads to a minimum and deservedly keeping warm & dry as they go about it.
