Every year CERESAV participates in the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence from November 25 to December 10 to raise awareness of the devastating effects of acid attack violence.
This year we are mobilizing a national campaign under the theme “A step Towards Justice and Dignity,” and we need your support NOW to make it happen. CERESAV is fundraising for $15,000 within 90 days in order to set the ground for the planned activities throughout all the 16 days which will include:
- Host media engagements on national radio, TV, and social media to highlight survivors’ stories and advocate for policy reform.
- Organize a 10 km Walk for Acid Attack Survivors in Kampala to engage the public and boda boda riders in prevention and awareness efforts.
- Convene a Dialogue and Dinner on GBV to bring together survivors, community leaders, and stakeholders for reflection and action.
- Support survivors’ participation by providing transportation, meals, and accommodation.
- Facilitate peer support and healing spaces for survivors to connect, build confidence, and share their experiences.
Why It Matters:
Acid and burn violence leaves deep physical and emotional scars. But survivors are more than their pain; they are leaders, advocates, and change-makers. This campaign is about restoring dignity, demanding justice, and building a community of hope.
Your donation will help transform trauma into resilience and silence into advocacy. It will remind every survivor that they are not alone and that the world is walking with them.
Every dollar makes a difference. Every voice strengthens our cause.
Your donation, no matter the size, is a direct investment in justice, dignity, and healing.
Donate today and share this campaign with your network to help us reach our $15,000 goal.
Together, we can take a step towards justice and dignity.

About CERESAV
The Center for Rehabilitation of Survivors of Acid and Burns Violence is a non-government organization (NGO) headquartered in Kampala, Uganda with affiliates in the United States and the United Kingdom. Founded by acid attack survivors in 2012 to bring light to the problem of acid attack violence and to restore a sense of purpose and hope to survivors suffering in silence, the organization has served over 500 survivors scattered across Uganda since 2012. CERESAV continues to provide immediate lifesaving medical support, facilitate surgeries and longer-term recovery, including social and economic reintegration of survivors back into their communities, as well as support educational efforts of survivor’s children — all while advocating for an end to acid attack violence in Uganda.
