We are Angel Cakes Collective, a small batch bakery in Oakland. Looking out for our community is a central part of our mission. One of the ways we hope to do that is by offering free or discounted celebration cakes to local families affected by the government shutdown, scaled back SNAP funding, and otherwise ongoing financial need. If you would like to sponsor a family in need, we encourage you to donate here.

We are currently reaching out to local food banks and organizations providing food to our community, in hopes of building a partnership to help us connect to those who need it most. Our goal is to not only raise funds to provide some joy and normalcy to families in need, but also to match donations in kind. For every cake/box of cupcakes our community is able to sponsor, our bakery will donate another!

We understand that a cake may seem like a simple thing, but for families struggling to make ends meet, even small celebrations can feel out of reach. Our goal is to help make life's milestones a little brighter and to remind families that their special moments still matter.

Although we are kicking this off as a temporary venture during these trying times, we have big goals of making this a monthly contribution. We just need some help to get there.
