New England Women's Solidarity campaigns for the sex-based rights of women and girls in the northeastern US.

Some of the causes for which we advocate:
  • Incarcerated women who are being abused by male convicts now housed in women's prisons because they claim a female identity. Women forced to share cells and showers with male convicts have reported sexual assaults and threats. Sexual abuse should not be part of women's punishment in prison.
  • Single-sex crisis shelters. Traumatized women who have endured male violence such as rape or domestic abuse often need a female-only space to recover.
  • Women's and girls' sports. We think everyone should participate in and enjoy sports, but for the sake of fairness and safety, biological sex matters. Female athletes have the right to their own sports without having to sacrifice their honors and opportunities to males who have significant strength and speed advantages.
  • Single-sex spaces where we undress. This includes locker rooms, changing rooms and bathrooms.
  • The right for women to organize and gather in groups that exclude males. This right has been challenged by men demanding entry to lesbian gatherings, breastfeeding and menopause support groups and other events where women need female exclusivity.
  • The rights of elderly and disabled women to demand that female staff perform their intimate care and to be assigned female roommates when they are housed in support facilities.

Campaigning for these rights requires funding. We are currently planning to picket several women’s prisons where male convicts are abusing women and need money for travel costs, rally signs and public relations materials. We also provide support to the female inmates and are in need of funds for things like books to send them and initial rent for sober living housing when they’re released.
