Recent incidents of damage have highlighted the need to enhance security at Burrow's Field, a vital green space enjoyed by so many in our community. This park isn't just a place for recreation, it's also home to our local Leckhampton Rovers Football Club, a cherished not-for-profit charity run PreSchool (Broadlands), a popular playground and our beloved DugOut café. To protect these valuable assets and ensure the continued safety and enjoyment of the fields for everyone, we are launching this fundraising campaign.
The Need for Enhanced Security:
Broadlands recently experienced the direct impact of this antisocial behaviour with threats to the safety to the children and staff due to the rear of their premises being exposed to the field. The park was damaged by vehicles and the playground had to be closed for several days. These incidents of unauthorised access to the playing fields and antisocial behaviour caused concern for the safety and security of the area and it was agreed there was a need to take proactive steps to prevent future incidents.
Our primary goal is to install a low but robust fence around the perimeter of entry to the Burrows Fields. This will act as a clear boundary, deterring unauthorized access and helping to protect the park, the preschool, playground and the café from further damage and potential security breaches.
This type of fencing will be:
- Effective - clearly marking the boundaries and stopping unwanted access
- Respectful - designed to be low-profile and blend in with the natural surroundings, minimizing disruption to the park's aesthetic
- Durable - built to withstand the elements and provide long-lasting security
