Hi! We're Debbie and Charlie - Swimming Teachers at Chichester Swim School.
Following 2 very successful trips to Lake Bunyonyi, we are back this October to continue our mission to help support Tyson Bunyonyi and the local community promoting water safety. The communities that live on the lake regularly have to deal with the crippling loss of loved ones due to drownings. The lake is the main form of transport as the communities are all based around the lake and on islands, and yet due to funding and lack of opportunity, much of the local community are unable to swim.
Tyson Bunyonyi has made it his life's mission to change this, and we are thrilled to be supporting him with it. To date, the generosity of our supporters have bought over 100 life jackets, funded an adult courses and supplied various swimming resources.
We are now banging on your doors again to help us fund another adult course that we will be running in the lake this trip, alongside 1-2 community lesson sessions each day (these normally have a turn out of 50-80 children). We are now beginning to the see the repercussions of these sessions as the children get stronger in the water and water safety becomes an integral part of their thought process when using the lake.
We are self funding our expenses, so all money raised will go direct to the project.
You can find out more about Tyson's project here: Bunyonyi Swim Project
Thank you in advance for your time and generosity. We can not WAIT to get back out in the lake!
