Don’t Let 100 Years of Our Family History Disappear — Help Us Save Our Promise Land Home
**Save My Family’s Historic Home in the Promise Land**
Over 100 years ago, our great-grandmother bought a small piece of land in the Promise Land with just $100 and a dream. From that courageous decision grew a home where four generations of our family have lived, loved, and built their lives. Our grandmother grew up here, our mother grew up here, and we did too. Today, that legacy is at risk of being lost forever. After our mother became seriously ill, we fell behind on property taxes and are now facing foreclosure unless we can raise $8,000. This house isn’t just property—it’s the heart of our family’s story, and we are asking for help to save the last piece of our family’s history.
For over 100 years, our family has called the historic Promise Land home.
Our story here began in the 1920s, when our great-grandmother—an incredibly determined woman—left home with a dream of building something for herself and her future family. With just $100, she purchased a small piece of land in this neighborhood, determined to put down roots.
She succeeded.
On that land, she raised her children.
Our grandmother grew up here and raised her own children.
Our mother grew up here and raised us.
This home is more than a building.
It’s four generations of memories, resilience, and family history.
But now, we are at risk of losing it.
Why We Need Help
Our mother became very sick before she passed away. During that difficult time, medical costs and life challenges caused us to fall behind on property taxes.
Now the county is demanding nearly $8,000 in back taxes, and if we cannot pay it soon, our family home will be foreclosed on.
Losing this home would mean losing the last physical piece of our family’s legacy.
A Neighborhood Changing Too Fast
The Promise Land is a historic community with deep roots. But in recent years, wealthy investors and outside buyers have been purchasing properties, and many families who have lived here for generations are being pushed out.
Our home is one of the few remaining pieces of our family’s history here. If we lose it, over a century of family presence in this neighborhood disappears.
Why This Matters
This house represents:
• A woman in the 1920s who took a leap of faith with $100
• Generations of hard work and family memories
• A legacy passed down through generations
• A connection to a historic community that shaped who we are
Saving this home means preserving a piece of history and honoring the sacrifices of the women who built our family home.
How You Can Help
We are trying to raise $8,000 to pay the overdue property taxes and stop the foreclosure process.
Any support—no matter how small—will help us protect this home and keep our family’s legacy alive.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Every share brings us closer to saving a piece of history.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story and helping us fight to keep our family home.
**With gratitude,**
**Jennifer and Tommy** ❤️
