Help Unleashed Theatre Company to plug a leak!

Unleashed Theatre Company exists for the community. Established as a charity in 2016 to help those in Torbay who may be homeless, suffering from addiction or experiencing mental health difficulties, we use arts to build confidence, self-worth and give our members a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental place to grow.

Due to a kind donation, we have been able to purchase our own property, which will allow us to branch out and expand. Offering more opportunities to meet for our existing Drama and Choir groups as well as establishing Youth Programmes and other community support opportunities, this is an exciting time for everyone involved as we look to unleash the potential in our community.

However, whilst the purchase of the old Central Cinema in Torquay offers promise for the future, right now we are dealing with the realisation of what we have taken on. Being an old and unloved building, first opened in 1880 as the Royal Lyceum, there is plenty for us to work on before we can fully open Unleashed @ The Royal Lyceum and our Community Arts Centre. The most pressing and urgent repairs however, are sections of the roof which need complete replacement or repair. Decades of neglect have allowed water to damage numerous areas within the builiding, causing extensive damage to once beautiful areas and our aim is to repair these sections before proceeding with form of renovation or interior repairs.
