Help Us Open a Late-Night Tea Lounge & Community Hub

Peace~ we are a group of friends individually and collectively devoted to cultural arts & wellness. When we learned that community members from “The Conservatory,” a yoga + art studio in Columbia City, put their studio up for lease, we felt the need to bring our resources together in order to save the space and the momentum that was lovingly built. We understand that what we want to offer is rare, and that Seattle is changing quickly due to gentrification. We hope to create a thriving venue that may continue nurturing community, creativity, and wellness.
This is a huge undertaking, and we feel that we are responding to a communal need. A late-night tea lounge in Seattle?! Say whaaat. So, through years of organizing and friendship, it has given us the confidence to build this cooperative-based Tea Lounge. We hope that you see that our dream is also yours. We believe our city needs more regenerative spaces, ones that are not so focused on transaction but rather on art, expression, compassion, growth, and solidarity. With your support, it will help bring the shop to life! All the funding will go towards the equipment and foundation that we need to get started. Open to trades and any offer of support <3
Our goal is to activate this venue in 3 ways:
1) Late-night tea lounge: We understand that Seattle lacks sobriety-friendly spaces that are open late. Our yummy menu will feature specialized tea blends, tonics, and drinks that also offer medicinal and traditional value. We want to create a unique atmosphere where folks can simply chill, be creative, and access peace, wellness, and connection amidst the city.
2) Resiliency Hub: The tea shop will host an array of wellness events, classes, and find ways to bridge resources to the community (food, community potlucks, etc.!). We are determined to be a space that fosters mindfulness and engagement through meaningful action, knowledge building, and learning together.
3) Local
& Sustainable Apothecary: As we build our tea shop and apothecary, we will be connected with local growers, herbalists, and indigenous peoples. We look forward to creating reciprocal relations that are for and by our community and tribal members. Our mission is to practice being a model that shows we can gather and consume in a way that is more mindful and restorative.
