Hello dear friends, family, & community! We are so excited to share that we are welcoming our baby boy this fall. We recently found out that we will not be receiving any maternal or paternal leave from the government, which was quite a shock as we were planning on receiving at least something for those first 12 weeks. After letting the shock & sadness around that news settle, I have felt a nudge to be a bit more vulnerable & ask for support from those who feel the aliveness & joy in it! I have been deeply processing the structure of our government & how sad I feel that things are the way they are. Yet I also keep coming back to this knowing that we are the change & I am choosing to not be a victim to the system. It doesn’t deserve that much of my energy. I trust Life & my deep knowing that we will have everything we need as we welcome our son. I also believe things are restructuring within our society & the current structure is clearly crumbling beneath our feet. I think part of the new way that is rising actually begins as we allow ourselves to be more vulnerable with each other, to say what we need, to share our resources, especially when there is natural overflow. It feels kind of messy, but nature is messy & there is a curiosity inside of me that wonders if even this is all a part of the shift that is happening. It makes me want to live into it even more! It feels so vulnerable to post this because of the deep story I hold that I have to work harder & do everything myself. As I expand into Motherhood, I know that Life is asking me to learn how to receive more deeply & allow support to come in. So this is me experimenting with that invitation from life.

We are looking to raise $3,300, which would cover all of our expenses for that first month with our son. This would give us the freedom to nest, to get to know him, to rest & receive as a new family.
