My husband and I have just moved into our new apartment after a long period of uncertainty. For months, we were staying with different people, moving from place to place, and struggling to make ends meet. It was a really tough time for us, and even though we got a little bit of help along the way, it wasn’t enough to get us started in our new home. We’re grateful to finally have a place of our own, but we’re starting from scratch with no furniture, no bed, and none of the basics that make a house feel like home.

Having furniture, a bed to sleep on, kitchen items like plates, pots, and pans, and bathroom supplies would make a huge difference for us. These basics would help us feel comfortable and settled after everything we’ve been through. Right now, even the smallest things—like a couch to sit on or a plate to eat from—would mean the world to us as we try to rebuild and create a safe, welcoming space.
