We are Julie and Jens, two nursing students at the HAN, and for our minor program we have the opportunity to support a very special project in Malawi. Together with Umoza, a local organization that helps children living on the streets, we want to contribute to a brighter future for these kids.
Why Umoza?
Umoza supports children who are living on the streets by providing meals, educational activities, and special lessons so that those who have fallen behind can catch up and join school again. Every day, the Umoza team goes out to find children who are not attending school. If both the children and their parents agree, they can join the Umoza program.
What We Plan to Do
Previous groups have, for example:
• rebuilt and painted the kitchen and classrooms,
• organized creative and sports activities,
• reached out to children on the streets and connected with their families.
These improvements make sure that children can receive a daily meal, learn in a safe environment, and develop their talents through play.
Our Mission
With your support, we aim to:
• guide the children in educational and fun activities,
• help serve meals,
• assist in improving facilities such as kitchens or classrooms,
• and most importantly, work alongside the local staff to give these children a chance at a better future.
Your Contribution
Every donation, big or small, will help us to:
• purchase school supplies, sports equipment and creative materials,
• improve and maintain classrooms and other small renovations,
• and provide extra resources so that Umoza can continue making a lasting impact.
Thanks to your help, we will not only grow and learn as future nurses but also leave a meaningful and lasting positive impact on the children in Malawi.
Thank you so much for your support!
Warm regards, Julie and Jens
