In a world where weapons, violence, and disrespect seem to be the new normal... a group of 22 powerful individuals is coming together for one common goal: to interrupt the noise and reconnect people to what truly matters in life. Our vision for the future is to engage today’s children through community connections, vulnerability, and love.
Our committed action - to see our vision through - is to powerfully and urgently raise $40,000 in donations by August 30, 2019. Our mission is to host an art event for children in the San Francisco Bay Area, where they can craft their vision of the world and learn of ours too. This will be an opportunity to connect, enroll, learn, and thrive. A number of additional art gatherings will take place in select U.S. cities. The art created at these gatherings will be collected and sold on an online silent auction (Aug. 21-29, 2019). The funds collected from the auction and GoFundMe Campaign will be donated to the Liza Maribel Foundation Inc. This is an opportunity for us to have a much larger impact on our country and the world.
The Liza Maribel Foundation Inc. is a (501c3) non-profit organization founded by Liza Maribel. The foundation empowers individuals and organizations to make a significant difference in the quality of life of people living in abject conditions. We are dedicated to raising financial support for single-parent families for the following: groceries, housing, educational scholarships, and medical grants.
We thrive by positively impacting the lives of children, single parents, the homeless, and all others seeking a happier way of living. We also offer yearly grants to various organizations in the Bay Area, such as Alameda County CASA, First Presbyterian Food Ministry of Oakland, CEP and New Day for Children, that provide similar support to foster youth, women in transition homes, homeless teenagers and sex trafficking victims.
The organization was founded as a direct response to the experiences Liza Maribel endured. At one point in her life, she became a single mom while struggling with cancer and eventually faced homelessness. Liza Maribel knows first hand how a single parent can struggle with the challenges of raising a responsible, caring child that feels safe and protected amid all the unexpected circumstances that can happen in life.
