Decolonize Abundance: Help us Launch Our Farm!

Hi! My name is Katherine Valenzuela Parsons, and I started this fundraiser to launch one of my biggest dreams! Decolonize Abundance is starting a community-based farm! I am the director of Decolonize Abundance and we operate with a small group of volunteers both locally in person and virtually. DiDi Delgado and I founded this project after working together on the Buy Nothing Project Equity Team. Read more about our mission at our website here: here

The farm will be at my home in Moseley, VA, about 20 minutes outside the city of Richmond, VA. Our mission is to give food to free pantries, fridges, and community groups or networks for folks experiencing hunger and living in food apartheid. The farm’s first-year goal is to provide 500 dozen eggs and as much fresh produce grown on the farm as we can with help from volunteers to free food networks within the Greater Richmond, VA area. The Food Justice Program will also offer free educational classes on farming, food inequity, and leading an equitable “Buy Nothing” lifestyle.

What will we use the money on?
