My name is Ally, I've been running Prom Ally for 6 years now. Prom Ally CIC helps young people in the UK suffering financial hardship with an outfit for their school prom. This ensures they're not left out or made to feel different due to their parents financial situation. Over the years we've helped hundreds of young girls with a dress to prom and have recently started helping with suits and tuxedo's too.
This month we also launched a Winter campaign from the shop called Coats4Kids Conwy. We are collecting lightly used coats and giving them to the children around Conwy county who need them most to make sure they're warm this winter.
All of the above activities were made so much easier by having a physical shop on Madoc Street, Llandudno. It's a base and a high street presence. Somewhere for people to bring donations of coats and dresses, somewhere for us to sell the older and unwanted stock to raise funds, somewhere for teenagers to come in and try on the dresses and not to mention somewhere to crucially store our stock.
Unfortunately somebody is interested in renting the building we've worked so hard to decorate, paint and make our own. The only way we can keep it and stay for another year ensuring we're able to help these kids and teens is by matching their offer of £9000.
Prom Ally CIC is a not for profit social enterprise and we cannot afford this amount of rent. We're hoping that by crowdfunding we'll be able to afford this. I know I've asked a lot over the years, from fashion show tickets, to dress donations, to competitions etc. But if anyone is in a position where they're able to help, it would mean so much to me, the directors and most importantly the kids and teenagers that we help each year.
Prom Ally has 4,300 followers on Facebook, if each one gave just £2.09 we could afford the full years rent. This is less than the price of a coffee.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!
