Help Us Keep The Performing Arts Alive in Ventura

Namba Performing Arts Space provides an intimate theatre for residents and visitors in the Ventura area to experience a variety of performing arts and educational programming. In addition to being a venue for touring acts, we host showcases, community and cultural events and workshops, related to the performing arts. Our calling is nurturing new projects, fostering collaboration and enriching the cultural landscape of our community and beyond.

We seek support for Namba Performing Arts Space under special circumstances. When Julia Campbell Namba passed away suddenly in December, her monthly donation, integral to our operating budget, was put on hold.

It is clear that Julia’s wish is to keep NAMBA vibrant and accessible to everyone. Her estate has substantial provisions for NAMBA, but will not be finalized for at least another six months. Our Board has shown strong fiscal management, saving several months operating capital since re-opening after Covid, and we are taking action to prevent a budget shortfall while we await the estate settlement.

NAMBA continues to deliver wonderful performances, classes and donation-based performance workshops, with support from the Smith-Hobson Foundation, Barbara Barnard-Smith Foundation, The City of Ventura, federal grants, ticket sales, venue rentals and a whole lot of enthusiastic volunteers, but we need your support. Our goal is to raise $20,000 in the short term so that we can continue to provide, without interruption, a performance platform, pay our artists, and enrich a community in which the arts are underrepresented.

We are a young organization looking to you, among our community leaders, to propel us through this temporary financial challenge.
