To all our friends, flower and gardening enthusiasts, volunteers, and community helpers. Thank you so much for all you have done, but we are shouting out for your generous help.
The Frenchay Flower Show has been an integral part of our community for decades, celebrating the delight of gardening, the beauty in handmade crafts, and the joy of coming together as a community.
This year would have marked the 78th Frenchay Flower Show, but with a heavy heart, we have had to cancel the show at short notice. There was no way to celebrate the flower show safely whilst a yellow storm warning for a high wind was issued. This has left the Frenchay Flower Show Organising Committee, a team of over thirty local volunteers, with some hefty bills to settle before we can begin planning the 2024 show.
The cost of staging a flower show is considerable; £5,000 just for the marquee, which many of you will have recently seen sitting empty and rather forlorn on the common. To bring it back to life, we need your help. We’re asking for your generosity to recoup some of our costs.
The buzz on our Frenchay Flower Show Facebook Page is massive, with so many people posting photos of their remarkable exhibits - crochet, beautiful flower displays, scarecrows and aubergines, to name just a few! It shows how much love there is for the Frenchay Flower Show. By helping us to raise this money, you will be assisting the Organising Committee to focus on staging the 2024 show, which will be a testament to our community’s resilience.
For those that are able, we ask you to please give generously.
The Frenchay Flower Show is not for profit. Any profits at the end of each year are donated from the Frenchay Village Community Interest Company to local charities and causes.
