We have just weeks to save our home and small community kindergarten that we built over the past 7 years.
My children and I have lived on the Dartington Estate for 10 years. Earlier this year, our home was unexpectedly put up for auction. Although I submitted an offer as a long-term tenant (with right of first refusal), the property was still taken to auction before that process could be completed.
To stop us losing our home as well as our community-based kindergarten ‘Elderflower’ I was left without a choice and had to bid at the auction myself. I secured the property and paid the 10% deposit, but the auction deadline means a normal mortgage is no longer possible. I now need bridging finance, leaving an unexpected £45,000 shortfall that must be raised before 28 May 2026.
If I cannot complete:
- My children and I will lose our home
- Elderflower kindergarten will close
- The deposit already paid will be lost
Elderflower is a small nature-based Waldorf kindergarten where children spend their days with animals, storytelling and seasonal crafts. For many local families, it is a place of stability, care and belonging that cannot easily be replaced.
I have always worked hard to sustain this home and kindergarten independently, and asking for help like this is deeply difficult. But without urgent support, we stand to lose everything we have built here over the last decade.
Every donation or share could make the difference between losing this home and securing a future for the children and families who depend on it.
With love and gratitude,
Orsolya
