My name is Gamille Vesy, and I am reaching out for help for myself and my daughter as we face a critical moment in our immigration journey. I first came to America on a J1 visa, with my daughter as my dependent, determined to build a better life and pursue my dream of becoming a special education teacher. Along the way, I met and married the love of my life, a US citizen, and together we formed a beautiful blended family. We have poured our hearts and all our savings into the process of adjusting our status and securing our future here. Despite our best efforts, we recently received the devastating news that our green card application was denied. This has left us not only emotionally shattered, but also financially exhausted, as we have used every resource available to us in hopes of staying together in the country we now call home.
Now, we are at a crossroads. Without the means to afford an immigration lawyer, we risk being separated—not just as a couple, but as a family. My husband’s daughter, who has been a part of my life since she was two years old, and our own daughter, now six and seven, face the heartbreaking possibility of being torn apart. The funds we are seeking will go directly toward legal fees, refiling our adjustment of status, applying for a work permit, and filing a motion to challenge the green card denial. Your support will help us fight for our right to stay together and continue building our lives in the United States.
I am sincerely asking for your kindness and generosity during this time of crisis. I came here with the hope of giving my child a brighter future, and now, with your help, we can keep our family whole. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and bring us closer to overcoming this challenge. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us and giving us hope.
