Surprise!!! We’re pregnant! We are over the moon excited, but life decided to throw us a huge curveball — again.

On February 2nd, 2026, around 10:00 PM, I checked my blood pressure at home and was shocked when it read 200/111. For reference, a normal blood pressure is around 120/80.

We rushed to the San Marcos Kaiser emergency room, where the doctors worked quickly and did everything they could to bring my blood pressure down — and thankfully, they were able to get it slightly under control.

Because I had preeclampsia with my first daughter, which resulted in her being delivered at 31 weeks gestational age and spending four weeks in the NICU, the medical team feels it’s safest to keep me and my 26-week baby girl admitted to the hospital for at least the next 10 weeks. Their hope — and ours — is that by staying here, we can keep our unborn daughter safe and give her the best chance to stay in my belly for as long as possible.

Because of this medical stay, I’ll be unable to work for the next two months, followed by an additional two months of unpaid maternity leave as I heal and we welcome our new baby and adapt to this new life with her.

This situation has been incredibly difficult for our family. Being away from my 2.5 year old daughter, Kairra Tamis and the father of my soon- to- be- two baby girls has been the hardest part. On top of the immense emotional strain, I’ve had to step away from my work doing hair — something I truly love — which has resulted in a major loss of income.

The funds raised will help cover living while I’m out of work, childcare, and the medical expenses that could add up during this hospital stay and after.
