Help Us Keep Going — A Mom & Daughters’ Journey to Stability

Hi, my name is Tia, and I’m a single mother of two amazing girls, ages 7 and 8. My daughters are smart, creative, and full of light — they love reading, writing, painting, anime, fashion, and cooking right beside me.

Our journey hasn’t been easy. We’ve been through homelessness since their birth — moving from place to place, staying in shelters, and sometimes with friends until we were asked to leave. There were nights I stayed awake for 24 hours just to keep my daughters safe, and even nights I slept in cars so they wouldn’t have to.

In 2023, we moved to Los Angeles with nothing but faith and hope for a new start. We didn’t expect to go through shelters again, but we did. Yet even through all that, we held onto each other.

Now, we’ve finally been in permanent housing for a year — and I’m proud to say I’ve overcome homelessness and so many obstacles that once seemed impossible. This moment of stability is a blessing, but it’s also a rebuilding season. Things are still tight, and I’m working every day to create consistency and peace for my girls as they grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

I’ve always been a 100% hands-on mom. Without any dad support, it’s been on me to make sure my daughters have everything they need. I couldn’t work a regular 9–5 job because of transportation struggles and the need to always be there for my girls — picking them up from daycare, homeschooling, and helping them through this transition.

That’s why I created HER GRRUV — a community that celebrates and uplifts women who’ve faced challenges like mine. HER GRRUV gives me purpose and connection, but it doesn’t yet provide income. Still, I pour my heart into it because I believe in the power of women supporting women.

Now, I’m humbly asking for help. This is my first time ever creating a GoFundMe. For years, I shied away from it — not because I thought it was bad, but because it didn’t feel easy. I watched others do it when I was homeless, and though I wanted to, I couldn’t bring myself to ask. It’s been 3 - 8 years of pushing through on my own. But today, I know it’s okay to ask for help — and I hope my community will understand and uplift us as we take this next step.

Your donations will go toward:
✨ Food and groceries for my family
✨ Housing and daily essentials
✨ Transportation support — getting my driver’s license and a reliable car
✨ Clothes, shoes, and haircare for my girls and myself
✨ A replacement computer (mine recently broke, and it’s essential for my work and HER GRRUV)
✨ A small savings cushion to help us stay stable and keep growing

I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for a hand up as I continue showing up for my daughters and myself. Every donation, every share, and every kind word means more than you know.

We’ve come so far — from shelters and sleepless nights to finally having a place to call home. Now, we just need a little help to keep going, to rebuild, and to keep our faith alive.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and believing in us.
