Hello friends.
On December 26, Justin's ex-wife, Allyson, passed away suddenly. Our primary concern became their son, Oli, who over the past few years has become an integral part of our family. We recognized that leaving his school and friends would be difficult, but we also knew that the best place for Oli to be would be in our safe, loving home, supported by family and our beautiful community of friends.
We were shocked when we were served with a court document stating that Allyson's fiance had been awarded temporary emergency custody of Oli. Reading this, I'm sure you have many questions, and I assure you we did as well. What we discovered was that our inclination to trust others and look for the good did not serve us in this instance, and we now find ourselves needing a legal advocate to help us bring our son home, and ensure he is cared for long term.
Legal aid does not come cheap, and we humbly ask for your help so that (hopefully) once Oli is home we can focus on providing him with everything he needs and creating our new normal.
