Help Us Honour the Life of Joseph Alexander Edmonds

Donation protected
On Friday, April 11, 2025 at 12:09 PM, we lost my father, Joseph Alexander Edmonds, suddenly and unexpectedly.

My father was a man of his own wit, and smarts. Joseph was mostly laid back, but sharp to laugh at a moment that felt trivial to him. He was always pulling jokes on the people around him. We always stated to each other that we were okay. He would push through and we would hopefully see him on the next visit. I hope to keep his memory within me, and through his grandson Ezra Cyrus Edmonds Larson. I remember the times where he would see me and say “there's my daughter” and then he would wrap his arms around me and give me a big hug.

There is nothing that would make me more happy than to truly honour his life in a memory for all of those who knew him to share for generations to come. He is a moment in time. A unique impression of what our universe collected through dust and created at the speed of light to showcase down on earth as a magnificent creation of friendship, connection, and love.
He was a kind and discerning person who loved to work at leisure so that he could freely do what he loved best: talking to people and connecting to his community. He carried his heart on his arm as well as history in his heart as he served time in the American army. As a sergeant he took charge, as a father he came to know his daughter, as a friend he came to know his community. We hope to honour his life and to keep his memory for those who did know him at a gravesite at Virginia, US, beside the Edmonds’ late grandfather's name, and grandmother's name.

His passing has left a huge hole in our lives, but this gathering of thoughts, memories, and the people who helped make his life worth it for him is what we want to hold onto. and we’re doing our best to get through the emotional and financial impact.

This GoFundMe is to help with:

Funeral & memorial arrangements

Cremation

Vancouver Sun obituary

Final expenses and affairs

Any unexpected costs that come up in the coming weeks

If you knew my dad, you know how much he gave to others. If you’re in a place to give something back, we would be incredibly grateful.

If you’re not, a share or kind word means just as much.

Thank you for supporting us during this very sad time
