Help us honour Sue.

Dave and Sue met in November of 2016 when Dave was working in Taichung, Taiwan. After meeting Sue and Joanna (Sue's sweet little girl), Sue and Dave both knew that they would spend the rest of their lives together with dreams of growing their family back in Canada.

Sue was immediately family and a friend favorite with her warm and sweet nature making her loved immediately by all who had the privilege to meet her.

Eventually, Dave, Sue, and Joanne moved back to Winnipeg in August of 2017 and were soon married in September 2017. While life was quickly moving for Sue and Dave they were overcome with excitement to welcome a new baby, and sister to their sweet Joanna, Abigail. Joanna is now 10 and Abigail is 18 months.

Dave and Sue worked relentlessly to provide for their families. While working two jobs day and night, Dave was also attending school in hopes of meeting their growing dreams. Dave and Sue were approaching a new chapter and adventure in their love story and with all of these changes happening they were so excited to move to Dauphin where Dave's hard work and tireless hours earned him a new job at the Dauphin hospital. While things were moving again in an exciting direction, Sue was well on her way to follow her own dreams as a chef. Sue was always making immaculate and inventive meals that warmed their home and bellies. She had a passion for creativity and was about to embark on this new adventure with pride and joy.

Sue and Dave always worked as hard as they could to provide for each other and their beautiful daughters. They strived to make sure their family was unconditionally proud of all their accomplishments and that their daughters saw the value of hard work, determination, and love.

Tragically on August 26th, 2021 the hopes, dreams, and dedication to a great life together would be changed in a way no one could have imagined. While nearing their home outside of Dauphin the vehicle in which Dave, Sue, and Abigail were traveling was struck head-on. At this moment there was absolutely nothing anyone could do to avoid this fatal accident, leaving Dave, Joanne, and Abigail without their beloved wife and mother.

Sue was pronounced deceased at the scene while Dave and Abigail were transported by ambulance to the Dauphin hospital whereby Dave needed to be transported to HSC for additional care to his serious injuries.

As his family and friends struggle to find ways in which to make sense of this all and come to terms with this new direction life has taken, our goal is to ensure Dave can focus on healing, not only from his own physical injuries but the most severe injury of all to the family, the loss of Sue.

Dave's only focus since learning of the degree this accident has had was getting out of the hospital to take care of his girls. We hope to be able to provide Dave with some relief in knowing that he is surrounded by family and friends that not only love him but love his daughters and loved Sue. We know that there is no monetary value that can alleviate the pain and suffering, our hope is to provide a moment for Dave to exhale amidst his saddest moments and understand that although he may feel alone without Sue, he will never have to walk this dark path without the love and support of his family and friends.

The funds raised will be immediately used to help bring Sue's family to Canada to say their goodbyes, as well as saving for the girl's future.

Words cannot sum up the gratitude that is felt during this painful time and what can only be described as unimaginable. Thank you to those who have reached out expressing their sorrow and desire to help Dave and his beautiful girls begin their path to healing.
