On June 16, my mother Angela suddenly began violently vomiting blood and had to be airlifted to the ICU. She spent over two weeks in the hospital undergoing multiple procedures, and when she was finally discharged, we felt incredibly grateful to have her home.
She was only home for about four days.
On July 6, my sister and I found her just before she suffered a seizure. We immediately called 911, and she was rushed back via ambulance to the hospital.
Since then, we've received the news that, due to her existing health conditions, her doctors do not believe she is likely to recover. That there is nothing more they can do. Regardless of that, we are still praying for a miracle. My sister and I want to believe she can come back from this.
My mom has spent years fighting multiple cancers, lupus, pulmonary hypertension, FARS disease, and countless other health complications. Through it all, she continued working two jobs to provide for our family. ALL THE WHILE grieving the fact my dad was unfairly deported late last year. She is the strongest woman I have ever known, and now I'm faced with carrying the responsibilities she has shouldered for so many years while also caring for my younger sister, Vivienne, who is about to begin her senior year of high school.
As we prepare for the unimaginable, I'm trying to hold my family together while caring for my younger sister and figuring out how we'll move forward. After my father was taken, my mom and I became the team that kept our family going. The thought of my little sister Vivi and I navigating life without her is overwhelming.
I'm creating this fundraiser to help support my family as we navigate these uncertain times.
If you supported our family before, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness carried us through one of the darkest times in our lives, and it means more than I can express that you're even taking the time to read this.
If you're able to donate, no matter the amount, it would help our family more than words can say. And if you're unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser or keeping my mom, my sister, and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your love, support, and compassion during the most difficult time of our lives.
