We found it over 800 miles away from home!
Help us bring the truck home just for his last ride. (Our goal is to pay the new owner to bring it to us for Grandpa’s burial which he agreed to $5k. If we reach $35k we will buy it back and it will stay in the family)
Our Grandpa (Norman Carl Johnson) was called to heaven on 3/4/2025 at the age of 82. Grandpa started his driving career, before graduating high school in 1961. In 1986 he purchased this 1985 359 Peterbilt. Over the years friends, family rode with him. This truck became part of him and part of our family. It was very seldom you ever seen this truck dirty.
After 55 years of driving grandpa retired in 2017. As our grandparents aged they chose to leave there home and go into an apartment. Unfortunately that meant his truck had to go as well. We all knew this would be one of the hardest days of his life. June of 2021 the new buyer came to purchase the truck, there was many family members around. Many pictures and stories were told. As the truck left his driveway for the last time you would have thought a family member passed away. It was absolutely heart breaking. Grandpa said through the years that he wanted his truck to take him home. Home meant it was his final resting place. March 21st family and friends gathered at the church for his ceremony. As winter is still upon us, it was decided to wait till nicer weather to have his burial service. As family shared stories about grandpa we talked about his burial service. We needed to give grandpa one last favor. Not knowing where the truck is we put a post on Tiktok asking for help. It was mind blowing all the support we got. People from all over the country helped us find his truck. After 600,000 views, 1000 comments and hundreds of private messages, social media helped us find grandpas truck. We're asking for help to raise the funds to bring struck home just long enough to give him that last ride. Will give the owner fuel, food, motel stay. Every little bit counts and would mean the world to us during this difficult time. Your generosity will help keep part of grandpa's legacy alive.
Thank a trucker the next time you see them. They've kept this Country moving. Most of all thank you all for your support and for helping us finding our grandpa's truck.
