Help Us Honor and Support Katie Ivers Schunk and Her Family
Donation protected
We are beyond heartbroken to share that our beloved daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother, Katie, has come to the final chapter of her journey after a fierce and courageous battle with colon cancer. We did everything we could to surround her with love, dignity, and peace in her last days.
In her short 43 years, Katie was most proud of being a devoted wife to the love of her life Justin, and a loving mother to two beautiful children — her 13-year-old son Max, and 11-year-old daughter Mabel. She always found joy and purpose by always being the one to show up, be the first to lend a hand, crack a joke, or make you feel at home. She was funny, generous, loyal as heck, and lived a life full of love, laughs, and service to others.
Through this challenging time, Katie asked for little to nothing in ways of support. However, many of you have reached out to us personally looking for a way to help and show your love for Katie to help support her family through this unimaginable time of loss. We have created this space to offer those who loved Katie a way to help that is lasting, practical, and forward-looking — a space to ease the weight of what’s ahead and help carry some of the burdens they should not have to shoulder alone.
We’re raising funds to help with both immediate and long-term needs:
• Household support, so her husband can focus on the kids without the added stress of bills piling up
• Ongoing support for her children — from therapy and emotional care now, to future needs like college tuition, weddings, and even one day helping with a down payment on a first home
• A Celebration of life that reflects Katie's vibrant spirit, full of laughter, music, and the love of everyone she’s touched
• Any unforeseen expenses that arise during this heartbreaking time
There is no donation too small.
Every dollar is a message that says:
You are not alone. You are loved. We’ve got you.
Thank you for showing up for Katie, for her family, and for the future she always dreamed of for her children.
With love and gratitude,
Lynn, Trish, and Stephanie
