Once upon a time, in the magic city of Miami, stormy waves and a cloud of grief descended upon the lives of our family.

In the beginning, we, as a close-knit family, never imagined seeking assistance beyond our own circle. It was our way of coping, of feeling and keeping the grief personal. However, it wasn't long before we realized that Jorge's impact had reached far beyond our familial ties.

His colleagues, peers, and friends, who had been touched by his unwavering kindness and selflessness, began to reach out to us. They shared stories of how Jorge had been a pillar of support in their lives, a confidant, and a friend who had stood by them in both joy and sorrow. He was their jokester. Their nurturer. Their supporter. It was then that they expressed their desire to contribute, not just with words of consolation but with actions that would make a lasting difference.

One day, a close friend of Jorge's gently suggested creating a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the travel expenses for his daughters and to provide for the youngest one's future endeavors. The idea was met with hesitant acceptance, for we did not want to burden anyone. However, it soon became evident that this was not just about a financial transaction; it was a tribute to the life Jorge had lived and the love he had spread.

And so, we reached out to the girls to gently tally their expenses and reached out to Oli's Mom to project what Jorgie would've contributed for the next school years for Oli to attend the schools they had planned out, she's been in a Catholic Private School all her life and the goal was to get her through the next four years of private Catholic high school and then off to college. They had their plan since she was a baby. We also are thinking about his 8 year old granddaughter Ava who he had planned to take to Disney soon.

In response to the prompt of love and kindness this GoFundMe campaign that would honor the memory of our beloved Jorgie would be entirely setup for Olivia's schooling, the expenses his oldest daughters are incurring and taking his granddaughter Ava to Disney to celebrate his life the way he wanted to celebrate with her.

Jorge's life had indeed been a masterpiece of friendship, love, and giving. He had touched countless hearts with his genuine care and selflessness. The epitome of love, he had shown that one person's kindness could ripple out, creating a wave of love that embraced the world.

The outpouring of love and light is truly indescribable. It spoke of a man who had made a difference in the lives of many, a man whose impact was felt in every corner of the world. It is a testament to the fact that Jorge had not only lived a life worth living but a life that had left an enduring legacy of love, compassion, and generosity. Our family is humbled and honored by the outpouring of love, and we realized that the world recognizes what we have known all along - that Jorge's legacy was one of pure and selfless love.
