According to Nia, Andrew's wife...
On October 18, 2023, I found Andrew on our bedroom floor, prompting emergency surgery for a stroke on October 19, 2023. Complications shifted it from ischemic to hemorrhagic. Despite a month-long coma and a grim prognosis, Andrew defied the odds and woke up.
Now, financially, we face challenges; more than $15,000 that includes share of cost from the insurance both deductibles and copays and unexpected therapy costs. Blue Shield abruptly ceased services on January 19, 2024, leading to an emergency discharge and additional expenses. Currently, home health coverage is very limited. A caregiver is an additional but a necessary expense that we are also faced with right now.
Andrew, a 48-year-old Safeway Produce Clerk, isn't just a patient – he's a warm, witty soul who is always ready to share a smile and offer to help. Our two young daughters, ages 9 and 11, add complexity to our journey. Contributions can ease the financial strain, ensuring Andrew receives necessary care for a full recovery. Thank you for supporting us in this challenging journey.
From the bottom of my heart and my children, thank you very much and May God bless you all.
