Personally, I’ve endured my own nightmare. I’m grateful to still be alive, but I’ve struggled with substance use, and I have ongoing medical conditions, including heart issues and a blood disorder that requires lifelong medication. I also have hernias that I can’t afford to repair, which cause constant pain and require medication as well.

We live in the condo that belonged to my grandmother, but the conditions are extremely difficult. There’s no heat or air conditioning. Our washing machine is broken, so we wash our clothes in a leaking kitchen sink. Our refrigerator barely works. Every day is a struggle.

My mother is also suffering tremendously. She has serious health issues—she’s diabetic and needs large amounts of insulin daily. She’s currently on a heart monitor, and it’s heartbreaking to watch her health decline.

We are doing our best, but we are at a breaking point. I never imagined asking for help like this, but I don’t see any other option. We are in urgent need of support—whether financial, emotional, or spiritual. Even your prayers mean the world to us.
